About the Brighton Bench print
Brighton Bench is a limited edition print inspired by the quieter details of Brighton seafront. A weathered turquoise bench sits beside an ornate lamppost, with both forms reflected in rainwater across the promenade.
Brighton’s West Pier appears on the distant horizon, while small sails bring touches of colour to the sea. Turquoise and soft pink create a fresh coastal palette. Meanwhile, peeling paint, puddles and layered marks celebrate the character of worn seaside surfaces.
Claire Gill creates every artwork from her own photographs. Through her original digital photomontage process, she cuts out, rearranges and layers individual elements. As a result, the Brighton Bench print brings different coastal details together within one imagined scene.
