What Is an Original Digital Print?

Claire’s artworks are original digital creations — not reproductions of paintings. Each piece begins with photographic images taken by the artist and is transformed through a digital collage process. The final composition is printed as a limited edition, similar to a traditional printmaking method like etching or lino cut.

Once an edition sells out, no further prints are made.

Not quite finished but no longer just ideas.

These are some of the developing pieces currently pinned to my studio board.

Seeing them together helps me spot connections between images colours and compositions that aren’t always obvious on a computer screen.

Each work began with my own photographs of landscapes and coastlines gradually layered and reimagined into contemporary photomontage. There’s still plenty to refine but I love this stage where the collection starts to reveal its own character.

What do you love about the way the sea meets the shore?

I love how the picture changes from a view to a pattern when looking from above and the waves look like lace.

I am probably not alone on getting fed up being asked for feedback on everything from customer service to a delivery, but I have to say, it`s really lovely when customers take the time to give feedback on the prints. It hits on a personal level, makes me feel like I have made a difference and is like the icing on the cake!
