Elemental – Limited Edition Rough Sea Print
Elemental is a contemporary rough sea print by British artist Claire Gill, capturing the raw energy and movement of the ocean. Created through digital photomontage, the artwork combines Claire’s original photography to construct an imagined seascape filled with breaking waves, sea spray and shifting water.
Layers of photographic fragments build a sense of movement across the composition. Waves splash and collide, capturing the restless power of the sea and the constantly changing surface of the water.
Each limited edition print is produced on 310gsm Hahnemühle archival cotton rag using museum-quality giclée inks. Every print is signed and numbered by the artist and supplied unframed.

About Elemental
Elemental is a limited edition rough sea print by British artist Claire Gill. Breaking waves, splashing water and sea spray come together in an imagined seascape that captures the raw energy and constant movement of the ocean.
Rather than documenting a single moment, Claire constructs the seascape from her own photographs. She cuts out, layers and rearranges individual photographic fragments digitally until a new composition begins to emerge. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.
Capturing the Energy of the Ocean
Claire’s slow digital photomontage process begins with photographs gathered while exploring the coastline. Waves, water, foam, spray and fleeting details become the raw material for an entirely new seascape.
In Elemental, these fragments build upon one another to create movement across the composition. Waves rise, break and splash, while shifting layers of water capture something of the unpredictable power of the sea. Rather than a peaceful coastal view, the artwork celebrates the ocean at its most restless and elemental.
