Jurassic – Limited Edition Charmouth Beach Print
Jurassic is a contemporary coastal print by British artist Claire Gill, inspired by Charmouth Beach on Dorset’s Jurassic Coast. Created through digital photomontage, the artwork combines Claire’s original photography to construct an imagined seascape rather than document a single view.

About Jurassic
Jurassic is a limited edition Charmouth Beach print by British artist Claire Gill. Inspired by Dorset’s Jurassic Coast, the artwork brings together sea, shoreline and coastal textures to create an imagined seascape with a quiet, atmospheric quality.
Rather than documenting a single view, Claire constructs the landscape from her own photographs. She cuts out, layers and rearranges individual photographic fragments digitally until a new composition begins to emerge. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.
Inspired by Charmouth Beach and the Jurassic Coast
Claire’s slow digital photomontage process begins with photographs gathered while walking and exploring the coastline. Water, rocks, shoreline, weathered surfaces and overlooked coastal details become the raw material for an entirely new landscape.
In Jurassic, these photographic fragments come together to evoke the distinctive character of Charmouth Beach and the Dorset coast. Changes in colour, texture and scale create depth, while the open composition retains the sense of space and stillness that runs throughout Claire’s seascape work.
