About Tranquility
Tranquility is a limited edition tranquil landscape print by British artist Claire Gill. Layers of colour, vegetation and natural texture come together to create an imagined landscape with a peaceful, contemplative atmosphere.
Rather than documenting a single place, Claire constructs the landscape from her own photographs. She cuts out, layers and rearranges individual photographic fragments digitally until a new composition begins to emerge. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.
Created Through Digital Photomontage
Claire’s slow digital photomontage process begins with photographs gathered on walks and journeys. Trees, plants, textures and overlooked details become the raw material for an entirely new landscape.
In Tranquility, subtle layers of photographic detail create depth while the open composition gives the image room to breathe. Colour and texture work together quietly, creating a landscape designed to invite a moment of pause and reflection.
