The Sand Between My Toes is a contemporary coastal print by British artist Claire Gill, inspired by the Suffolk coast. Created through digital photomontage, the artwork combines Claire’s original photography to construct an imagined seascape filled with layered colour, texture and coastal detail.

About The Sand Between My Toes
The Sand Between My Toes is a limited edition Suffolk seascape print by British artist Claire Gill. Inspired by the textures, colours and atmosphere of the Suffolk coastline, the artwork brings together photographic fragments to create an imagined coastal landscape.
Rather than documenting a single view, Claire constructs the landscape from her own photographs. She cuts out, layers and rearranges individual photographic fragments digitally until a new composition begins to emerge. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.
Inspired by the Suffolk Coast
Claire’s slow digital photomontage process begins with photographs gathered while walking and exploring the coastline. Sand, water, vegetation, weathered surfaces and overlooked details become the raw material for an entirely new landscape.
In The Sand Between My Toes, these fragments come together to evoke the experience of being beside the sea. Changes in colour, texture and scale create depth, while the open composition retains the sense of space and stillness that runs throughout Claire’s seascape work.
