Martindale – Limited Edition Lake District Landscape Print
Martindale is a contemporary Lake District landscape print by British artist Claire Gill. Created through digital photomontage, the artwork combines Claire’s original photography to create an imagined landscape inspired by the distinctive scenery of the Lake District.
Layers of trees, hills and natural textures create a peaceful composition that evokes the atmosphere of the landscape rather than simply documenting a single view.
Each limited edition print is produced on 310gsm Hahnemühle archival cotton rag using museum-quality giclée inks. Every print is signed and numbered by the artist and supplied unframed.

Description
The Martindale Lake District Print
The Martindale Lake District print is a limited edition landscape artwork by British artist Claire Gill. Inspired by the distinctive scenery of the Lake District, layers of trees, hills and natural textures come together to create an imagined landscape.
Rather than documenting a single view, Claire constructs the landscape from her own photographs. She cuts out, layers and rearranges individual photographic fragments digitally until a new composition begins to emerge. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.
Created Through Digital Photomontage
Claire’s slow digital photomontage process begins with photographs gathered on walks and journeys. Trees, vegetation, distant hills and overlooked details become the raw material for an entirely new landscape.
In Martindale, layers of photographic detail lead the eye through the composition towards the distant landscape. Changes in colour, texture and scale create a sense of depth, while the open view retains the quiet, contemplative atmosphere that runs throughout Claire’s work.
