Ebb and Flow – Blue Seascape Print

Ebb and Flow is a blue seascape print by British artist Claire Gill. Inspired by the changing movement of the sea, it captures the gentle rhythm of waves as they move towards the shoreline.

Claire creates her contemporary landscapes through digital photomontage. First, she photographs places, textures and details found along the British coast. She then cuts, layers and rearranges these photographic fragments in Photoshop. As a result, the finished artwork sits somewhere between photography, collage and painting.

Soft blues, pale neutrals and subtle layers of texture give Ebb and Flow its calm atmosphere. Although the landscape feels familiar, it does not represent one exact view. Instead, Claire uses her photographs to create an imagined coastline shaped by memory and experience.

The repeated movement within the water gives the artwork its name. Ebb and Flow reflects the constant rhythm of the coast, while the open horizon creates a feeling of space and stillness.

This limited edition seascape works particularly well in calm, contemporary interiors. Its gentle coastal palette also complements neutral rooms and natural materials.
