Cornwall Art Print
‘Bobbing Blue’ is a Cornwall art print and contemporary digital collage which is inspired by the quaint harbour town of Mousehole near Newlyn. I created it by digitally combining original photographs taken at Mousehole. My aim when creating digital photomontages is always to retain a sense of the places I visit. However the very act of combining different images of the place, leads to the creation of an entirely new scene, which as a consequence leaves space for the imagination.
Mousehole is a magical place, which I visited several times. Each time I was immediately drawn to the boat in the image. This particular boat is surrounded by an enormous amount of colourful buoys, making it seem like it could never sink. I knew when I saw it that I wanted to include it in a piece of art. I have created the sea from details of peeling paint found on boats and doors around the harbour.
Deep blues and greens fill the image in order to reflect the turquoise seas found along this part of the British coastline. The pink and orange buoys offset the blues and greens – one of my favourite colour combinations. I created ‘Bobbing Blue’ to capture the energy of the sea on a sunny day and transport you to the harbour. Choose from three different size prints.
